My name is Tessa Grace. I am not, in fact, a quail. I have my fingers in too many pies.
I’m a history student, bookworm, perfume and tea junkie, all around nerd. Aspiring Medievalist/Medical Historian. Cat lady. Working at Walt Disney World in Orlando through the Disney College Program (Spring Advantage 2013; Costuming represent!).
-What’s the point of this blog?
The point is for there not to be a point. Every time I’ve tried to start and keep a blog according to a specific theme or subject, inevitably I would lose interest or run out of things to post about. I think that by posting all sorts of things – in short, what I think, do, and enjoy – there will be an inexhaustable amount of things to post about.
–You seem a little all over the place and some of the things you like are contradictory. Disney? Victorian literature? Energy healing? Goth music? Art history? WTF?
I’m gonna hand this over to my homeboy Walt Whitman:
“Do I contradict myself? Very well, then, I contradict myself; I am large — I contain multitudes.”
I don’t see it as being contradictory or scatterbrained – thinking of it as being well-rounded sounds much better, don’t you think?
–I don’t get you.
-What are you studying?
Right now, general education. After much floundering in my first year at community college, I almost literally stumbled into my passion for history (right after abandoning an ill-planned English major). After even more floundering I’ve settled on a goal of studying Medieval history – combining it with medical history, with a specific focus on Plague either in England or Germany (incidentally, where I hope to someday study abroad).
Other than that, I am interested in becoming a Reiki practitioner but have not yet started the training for it.
-What does the Disney College Program have to do with Plague history and Reiki?!
Absolutely nothing! But the lessons the experience will provide are priceless. I may want to study the past but I’m also a believer in living in the present – and applying to the DCP seemed like the right thing to do!
-Okay, what WON’T you post on this blog?
Celebrities, gossip, celebrity gossip, nonconstructive whining, TMI, politics, meanness, and political meanness. These are also subjects that I would like my readers to avoid commenting with.
(However, you are all welcome to post cat pictures to your hearts’ content.)
-You have two etsy shops and a ton of hobbies. You didn’t make this blog to shill stuff, did you?
If I post about the shops, it will be infrequent. Persons interested in my etsy shenanigans should follow the shop tumblr or twitter.
-Why the name Tiny Quail?
Because I wanted to put a bird on it! (Not really.)
I couldn’t tell you wait, really. It just sounded right.
